Wales Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience
Science Task Group
The Science Group is responsible for co-ordinating and overseeing the scientific acitivity that takes place in WICN. The Group works closely with the Third Mission and Dissemination and Education and Training Task Groups. The Science Group has a key role in promoting the range of scientific activities that take place in WICN, and generating ideas as well as initiatives that will contribute to the scientific goals of WICN. A critical part of this is the assessment and approval of applications for research projects that will receive WICN funding. The Science Group is in the process of developing procedures for research funding applications, the intention being to provide a fast and flexible resource for researchers wishing to engage in preliminary collaborative research that will lead subsequently to larger-scale joint research projects. Information on research applications that can be made currently is available here .
The Science Group reports to the WICN Steering Group , and the Science Group is also responsible for liaising with the seven Scientific Theme Groups, formed in order to provide a means of identifying overlapping research interests and generating collaborative research across the institutions within WICN within specified research domains. Each Theme Group has a designated contact who reports to the Science Group.
